SPECIAL/SUPERVISORY FEDERAL AGENT
Had various assignments during a twelve-year period all pertaining to planning and conducting investigators of individuals suspected of engaging in large-scale Federal law violations.
Position required a thorough knowledge the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs and the Drug Enforcement Administration policies and procedures with the ability to assign and schedule investigations to federal agents based on their experience and personal characteristics.
Monitored progress of all investigations through continuous informal discussion with agents providing expertise and training on effective methods utilized in each investigation. Retained authority to amend or modify their plans when necessary to minimize the risk of injury or death to agents, informants or suspects.
At times, personally appeared at the site of an investigation such as a major buy or raid to observe and evaluate the performance of the staff agents. Made recommendations for promotions or disciplinary measures when necessary.
Was responsible for coordinating the work of the enforcement group with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the law enforcement agencies. Reviewed proposals for the use of special equipment and electronic surveillance. Approved all intraregional, domestic and foreign travel.

SPECIAL AGENT
Initially work three years in undercover assignment purchasing narcotics and dangerous drugs from class-one violators in California, Nevada and Hawaii.
SUPERVISORY AGENT
Assigned for five years to the U.S. Department of Justice International Training Division in Washington, D.C. Was responsible for providing instruction to high ranking foreign dignitaries. During the first two years this assignment required travel to over 60 foreign countries.
Was appointed by the DEA Administrator to be the Director of the newly established Advanced International Drug Enforcement School. Was responsible for teaching foreign dignitaries advanced law enforcement techniques in Washington, D.C.
GROUP SUPERVISOR
Transferred to Loa Angeles, CA to organize and supervise the Planning and Evaluation Group. Was responsible for coordinating drug enforcement efforts throughout the Western Region of the U.S.
GROUP SUPERVISOR
Was assigned to established an drug enforcement group at the Los Angeles International Airport. Responsibilities included the enforcement of U.S. drug laws on both domestic and international airlines. Extensive coordination between airline officials and local law enforcement agencies.
