Background Checks Using a Driver’s License

Our team of private investigators are former federal agents with the FBI, DEA, IRS, or Secret Service.

A driver’s license number can be used to perform a background check, but it is not a “one-stop shop” for all personal information. While useful for accessing driving records, such as traffic violations and DUI charges, it typically does not include non-driving-related criminal records, educational history, or employment details. In most states, the driver’s license number is also the person’s Social Security number. A background check with a driver’s license number can reveal criminal convictions and may provide access to an address and phone number. You can access this information through public records or by hiring a private investigator. Private investigators can often get information faster and more efficiently. Note that permission from the person being checked is often required.
